Houston we have a Boiler problem.

My Boiler will not come on, What should I do?

  • 1st Check   ▬►  Quick help reference.

  • If you have Radiators . Although it is unusual but sometimes people turn the valves off at the radiator in the home to paint and then they forget to turn them back on. If you have the tall Cast Iron radiators in your home and you find that you have no heat or very little in some of or one of the rooms. It is possible the valve on the side is off or partially closed  or worst there could be a blockage in the radiator itself ( which would require replacement of the radiator).

  • If you have Baseboard. It is not uncommon for homes with baseboard heating elements to sometimes get air in the lines. Indications of this is no heat in some or all of the rooms. Sometimes you will hear gurgling noises or clanking in the pipes. In either case the system would need to be bled or purged. If you are not sure how to perform this task.
